Privacy notice

This site is run by Opeyemi Daniel. It collects as little as possible, and what it does collect is only ever used for the reason it was given.

The mailing list

If you give your email address, it is used to send you news about music and writing. Nothing else. The list is never sold, rented or shared. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and one click removes you permanently. You can also ask to be removed by writing to the address at the bottom of this page.

The list is held with an email provider who processes it on my behalf and under contract. Your address is kept for as long as you want to be on the list, and deleted after you leave.

Messages you send

The contact form opens your own email application with the message ready to send. Nothing is stored on this site. Once you send it, the message sits in my inbox and is kept only as long as it is useful.

Measurement

This site counts visits in two ways.

The first runs for everyone and uses no cookies. It records that a page was opened, roughly where in the world from, and which page sent you here. It sets nothing on your device, stores no identifier for you, and cannot follow you to any other site. There is no way for me to tell one visitor from another.

The second is Google Analytics, and it only runs if you say yes. It uses cookies, so you are asked before any of it loads, and nothing loads if you decline or simply ignore the question. Saying no is a normal answer and the site works exactly the same either way. Your choice is remembered in your own browser and nowhere else, and clearing your browsing data for this site resets it.

Where Google Analytics is running, your IP address is shortened before it is stored, the data is kept for 14 months and then deleted, and it is processed under Google’s data processing terms.

There are no advertising trackers on this site, and there never will be. The Google Analytics setup here is deliberately not connected to any advertising product, and the setting that would allow that is switched off.

Where this site links to a streaming service or a social platform, that company has its own privacy policy and this notice does not cover it.
